It’s probably the first time that Instagram hits its users hard with a mass clean up. We warned the media that millions of accounts were going to get wiped out and celebs were going to feel some type of way. Whether you’re worried about your account or curious aboutbuying Instagram followers, here’s what you need to know.
Recently, Instagram had announced that they were on the verge of deleting ‘fake or inactive’ accounts. This occurred after they had hit 300M users and showed Twitter who’s boss. Instagram doesn’t want its social platform to end up like Facebook, although fake fans are an unstoppable business.
Instagram began scanning all their accounts just a few days ago, to detect any suspicious activity. Luckily, a few months ago Rantic.com stopped selling ‘low quality’ followers. With that being said, our clients who purchased Instagram followers before August, will likely see a drop in followers.
As part of our policy, we offer FREE refills if any accounts see a drop. Our drops are likely to be very small and some celebrities with big followings won’t see much of a change. ALL social stores that sell Instagram services are seeing their client’s profiles drop in followers.
“In December 2014, we’re fixing an ongoing issue that incorrectly includes inactive or fake accounts in follower/following lists.” Instagram wrote in a news release.
Our Russian business partner told the International Business Times that up to 10 million fake Instagram accounts could be wiped out in a matter of days.
It looks like accounts are starting to drop. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Ma$e, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne and EVEN INSTAGRAM (chuckle), have all seen a drop in followers. Most of these celebrities saw a huge drop that dipped in the millions.
Unfortunately, its not over yet. There are still millions of accounts to be wiped out and it’s only going to be the beginning of a long annoying ‘Instagram Purge‘.
